We operate primarily in the Greater Montreal area and provide catering services for private, corporate, and community events.
2. Nature of Services
Fred Karam Catering offers made-to-order catering services, including but not limited to:
-
Prepared food platters and packages
-
Delivery and/or pickup of catering orders
-
Event catering with optional on-site service staff (where agreed)
We do not operate as a restaurant or retail counter under this brand. All services are provided by advance request and confirmation.
3. Quotes, Orders & Acceptance
-
All orders begin with an inquiry (by phone, email, or website form).
-
A quote is provided based on the information you share (event date, number of guests, menu choices, location, etc.).
-
An order is considered confirmed once:
-
You accept the quote in writing (email is sufficient), and
-
Any requested deposit or prepayment is received.
-
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order if:
-
We do not have the capacity to serve on the requested date
-
Payment terms are not met
-
There are safety, logistical, or other reasonable concerns
4. Pricing & Payment
-
All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
-
Applicable federal and provincial taxes (TPS/TVQ) are added to all invoices.
-
Payment methods may include Interac e-transfer, credit card (if available), or other mutually agreed methods.
-
A deposit may be required to secure the date, especially for larger events.
We reserve the right to update prices at any time. Once a quote is confirmed and accepted, the price for that event will not be changed except by mutual written agreement (for example, if guest count or menu changes).
5. Changes to Orders
Changes (menu, guest count, timing, location) must be communicated as early as possible.
-
Minor changes may be accommodated depending on availability.
-
Significant changes close to the event date may not be possible or may affect pricing.
Refer also to the Refund & Cancellation Policy for timing and fees relating to changes and cancellations.
6. Allergies, Dietary Restrictions & Food Safety
We take food safety and hygiene seriously and follow Québec guidelines on food handling.
However:
-
We operate in environments where common allergens may be present (e.g., gluten, soy, sesame, eggs, dairy, fish, etc.).
-
Clients are responsible for informing us in writing of any allergies or dietary restrictions when placing the order.
-
We will do our best to accommodate requests, but we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
Clients are responsible for:
-
Informing their guests of the presence of common allergens
-
Handling and storing food safely after delivery or pickup (e.g., refrigeration, time at room temperature)
Once food has been delivered or picked up, all responsibility for storage, handling, and service passes to the client, except where we are engaged on-site.
7. Delivery, Pickup & On-Site Service
-
Delivery fees and zones are discussed at the time of quotation.
-
Clients must provide accurate addresses, delivery instructions, and contact details.
-
If no one is available to receive the order at the agreed time, additional delivery attempts or delays may incur extra charges or impact food quality.
If on-site service staff are included:
-
The scope of service (set-up, buffet management, service, clearing) must be agreed in advance.
-
We are not responsible for venue infrastructure, equipment, or liability beyond food and service agreed upon.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by Québec law:
-
Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific event or order.
-
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, such as loss of profits, loss of opportunity, or reputation damage.
-
We are not liable for any issues arising from:
-
Improper handling, storage, or service of food after delivery
-
Failure to disclose allergies or dietary restrictions
-
Client’s misuse of products or ignoring food safety instructions
-
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that consumers have under applicable Québec and Canadian laws.
9. Intellectual Property
All text, branding, logo, and content on this site (except where otherwise indicated) are the property of Fred Karam Catering and may not be reproduced without written permission.
10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and applicable laws of Canada.
Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts in the judicial district of Montreal, Québec.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the website or services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
